Domaine de Provence® Red Harissa Paste
Perhaps the most recognized spicing agent in North Africa, harissa is a combination of red chili peppers, garlic, salt, caraway and coriander. The recipe has varied over the years as it has been adapted in other areas around the world. Traditionally this puree is passed around the table, where each person takes a small spoonful and adds it to their own dish. Based upon the consistency you like, one can dilute the harissa with either oil or water. It can be added to marinades for meats, poultry and seafood, mixed with mayonnaise for sandwiches, or added to stocks for extra heat. Shelf life is 3 years unopened. Refrigerate after opening.
