Sid Wainer & Son is the leader of the produce and specialty foods industry, we are also the only HACCP certified produce company in the United States. We have been recognized by the President of the United States, as well as the Secretary and Under Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture for our success. We are inspected by the Department of Commerce and the FDA.
As a child riding on the back of my father’s truck we only sold fruits and vegetables and we often visited some local farmers who we considered to be our friends. Throughout the years the visits to the local farmers increased and our partnerships became strong, as did our resolve to support the local farmers. What was really happening was that our purchases from the local farms were allowing us to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables the same day they were harvested and along with that the ability to speak of the higher yield because the produce was just harvested. Since then our relationship with farmers now includes farms from around the world and has allowed Sid Wainer & Son to be recognized as delivering not only the freshest produce in the industry but the highest yield product as well. Our relationships with farmers are singularly the major factor in our growth and has allowed us to distance ourselves from others in the industry. This is the essence of what Sid Wainer & Son is and the essence of what Sid Wainer & Son will become.
Product turn is one of the key elements to our success. We have a complete turn of our entire produce inventory six times per week. Our berry program turns twice daily. Sid Wainer & Son receives the first pick of the harvest from hundreds of Jansal Valley Farms throughout the world. We also harvest our own local farms. The purpose of our own local farms is to grow fantastic produce and test-market experimental crops. Once the crop is proven successful based on topography and climate and the quality of the harvest, the product is contracted out to the other Jansal Valley Farms in order to acquire ample quantities based on market demands and seasonality. We are very excited about our latest venture into farming and creating inner city farming operations. This will result in a national distribution warehouse offering our customers immediate distribution directly from the farms. Sid Wainer & Son is committed to sustainable agriculture, preserving open farm land utilizing inner city space and bringing the highest quality, fresh produce, handpicked from the world’s finest farms to the marketplace. We maintain close relationships with farms across the United States. These farms have an obligation to food safety. We emphasize quality and yield.
We are constantly scrutinizing and managing temperatures throughout the building. Temperatures are monitored throughout the day and night and are recorded every three hours. We’ve had five additions to our facility in the last five years, with more planned within the next few months.

Regarding diversity, Sid Wainer & Son has won numerous awards in the fancy food industry. We have been recognized in countless articles about food safety, eating healthy and the Mediterranean diet, most recently by the Associated Press in the Wall St. Journal. We lead the country in exploration of international produce, and specialty foods. We have been highly acclaimed over recent months in numerous publications for various products that we have sourced and introduced to chefs throughout the United States.
Our sales staff consists of food people who are trained chefs and come from the industry we serve so well. The company is run by a management team made up of hands-on, hard-working department managers, many of whom are themselves HACCP certified. These people are young, and have worked their way into their positions as a result of dedication, caring, and hard work. Communication is vital to the success of our business.
We have built a purchasing department that has been trained to buy quality and yield. Our quality and diversity are unlike any in the industry. We also work with culinary schools. Recently, we did a presentation for the entire faculty, staff and student body of a major university. The topic of our presentation was quality, yield, diversity and food safety. The results were so overwhelming that it was featured as a special on Channel 10 News for a series that ran an entire week and was subsequently repeated. A biography of our company recently aired nationally on Fox News International, and was forwarded to 60 countries worldwide.
We are capable of satisfying not only your current needs, but quite likely all of the needs you might have in the future. Our telephone system is backed up by a very intricate digital telecommunications network system that automatically becomes operational should the telephone line cease to function. This system, incidentally, was recently designed for the Coast Guard in the event of military emergencies. We communicate through a satellite system. We will always have at least 120 phone lines available for operation; currently we have 100 phone lines operational.

Our award winning specialty produce is the result of ninety years of experience, coupled with a passion for food and an uncompromising dedication to quality. Our 300,000 square foot storage facility has eight different temperature zones to house fruits and vegetables.
We are masters of shipping; we can tailor-make a program to meet any company’s needs. We have a well-disciplined order department and all orders are triple checked before leaving the dock. We have a policy of never say never. Our facility is available for tour anytime, which includes a fully equipped audio-visual commercial kitchen.
