Jansal Valley® Whole Nutmeg
An evergreen tree from the Spice Islands is the origin of this spice. Nutmeg is the seed from the fruit of this evergreen tree. Wrapped in a red lacy covering called mace, nutmeg can then be used either whole or ground. Add a sweet and pungent flavor to both sweet and savory dishes like apple or pumpkin pies, eggnog, steamed vegetables, pasta. Flavor diminishes with cooking, add late in the cooking process.
