Jansal Valley® Druied Mulato Peppers
Mulato peppers look similar to the ancho chile pepper but have a dark black skin instead of a dark red skin. The pepper is medium in heat and described as having a chocolate or anise flavor with undertones of fruit and tobacco. Often used in sauces and stews, this pepper is part of the "holy trinity" of peppers for a traditional mole sauce, along with the ancho and pasilla chiles.
