Henry has often lectured at food education conferences. He has personally visited farms in remote plains and forests of all of Europe, the Mediterranean and Central and South America. He has been in the most remote area visiting the world’s finest farms and consults numerous cookbook writers and produce journals on the what, why and how’s of all agricultural products grown around the world. He has a passion and talent for setting food trends and sourcing ingredients that have made him world renown. Henry Wainer is a community leader and has, throughout his lifetime, been involved with worthwhile humanitarian causes. He is consistently being sought out for his ability to get things done, and he doesn’t disappoint. After graduating from college, Henry Wainer has for the past 25 years, enjoyed the company and support of his loving family. Sid Wainer & Son has been awarded numerous gold medals by the Fancy Food Association over the last several years. Henry Wainer had served on the budget and auditing committee and has made a major contribution to the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade. Henry Wainer is the only American to have ever been invited to become part of the Consortium of Italian Olive Growers, producing certified Tuscan olive oil. On May 20th, 2000, Henry Wainer, being widely recognized for his efforts in promoting food safety internationally was awarded a doctorite, Honoris Causa, in business management from Johnson & Wales’ University, the largest culinary university in the world.

 | discuss Slow Food, food safety, HACCP, quality, and yield, Henry Wainer responded by creating within the Sid Wainer building, meeting rooms which accommodate over 100 guests, an intimate hospitality center which comfortably seats 50 and a spectacular commercial kitchen wherein 12 chefs can demonstrate simultaneously to an amphitheatre which houses 48 professionals. The entire facility has audiovisual capabilities and is used extensively by chefs worldwide. Henry Wainer recognizing the importance of Slow Food and sustainable agriculture and the often neglected preservation of farmland, undertook a major effort to obtain and protect 53.5 acres of local farmland which he dedicated to the continual assistance to local farmers; this farmland is today showing local farmers numerous ways to increase their productivity and to promote their financial well-being. Hundreds of varieties of plants are researched for ways to improve quality and productivity. When the results appear successful, this information is shared with all the local farmers throughout New England. Henry Wainer has, during the past year saved over 1,000 acres of farmland which otherwise had been slated for development. In addition, an education center has been created wherein children and adults alike can learn the history of the land, the meaning of sustainable agriculture, the importance of food safety and what it means to the environment and their future. This center has also been a destination throughout the community to promote family values through various farm events such as hayrides, Halloween parties, company family picnics, chef’s society meetings and other fun things. Today, with 23,000 customers nationwide, with offices in London, Henry Wainer continues to be the international leader in food safety, in sustainable agriculture and in ability to source the finest ingredients for chefs. His passion for promoting and educating his world in the wonderful benefits and experience of Slow Food is truly remarkable. It is of great importance to recognize that Henry Wainer’s drive, his motivation, his enthusiasm and his unfailing willingness and ability to execute, stems from an almost unimaginable, wonderful, relationship with his wife Marion and the bond they have created with their four children.
